Today adult learners need to compete in a new economic and global market. More jobs call for skilled, educated labor, requiring additional training and education beyond a high school diploma. The GED® testing program has always been a cornerstone of adult education since it first began in 1942.
the ged® test: one test
We know – as do the more than 18 million alumni – that second chances can change lives. And we recognize that second chances are about finding successful ways to put millions of lives that are on hold in motion – by creating the pathways that can help make dreams a reality. Choosing to earn a GED® credential signals the beginning of an important journey that develops confidence, builds skills, and enhances life success for adults who have the courage to pursue their dreams.

The GED® test is available in paper- or computer-based formats, but is administered only at approved testing centers – never online via the internet. The new, online test format offers test-takers the convenience and flexibility of registering and scheduling their tests online, and then taking the tests on computers at an official GED® testing center.

obtaining an official ged® transcript (for those who completed paper-based GED® tests)
Getting your GED® status has never been easier, faster, and more secure. E-Transcripts offer GED® examinees complete control over their personal record by providing direct access through the internet. It takes just a few minutes to download and print a transcript for schools, employers, the military, etc.

E-Transcripts are free to examinees, so you can print as many copies as you like whenever you require them.

To get started, you will need your access code, which is listed on your original transcript. Follow the directions at: www.ged123.org

If you do not have your access code, go to your nearest Oregon GED® testing center and take your valid driver’s license or other form of government-issued identification that shows your name, address, date of birth, signature, and photograph. Once you have your access code, visit www.ged123.org and print your official transcript.

If you cannot go to a testing center, or if you earned your GED® prior to 1986, please see Order Transcripts or Certificates below.
